I go over to the shaft and do the same test 73FPS. I then exited the level and booted up into Vulkan mode and did the same thing. I go over to the single most demanding section in that level (the frozen shaft before the first big killroom) and monitor my frame rate as I look down it to see what my performance is sitting at 80FPS (at first I'm surprised since usually doing that takes me down to 50FPS, but they must have patched the game as well to make shadows less demanding - dropping shadow quality from "Ultra" to "High" takes my framerate back up to the 75FPS range in that section, but I tested at Ultra to really stress out my GPU). I first start with OpenGL 4.5 (for obvious reasons it's the stock API), and boot up the most demanding level in the game Vega Central Processing. I7 4770k OC'd to 4.0GHz (essentially turning it into a 4790k) I boot up my game and set all settings to "Ultra" plus 16x Anisotropic filtering at 1920x1080. If anything, I'm actually seeing an 8% REDUCTION in performance. So, I've been reading all of the posts that say that Vulkan has increased their performance so much with some people reporting gains as high as 42%.
